John Gifford was born an underpriviledged child. He joined the Marines to escape some of the troubles of Little Rock, Arkansas. He exited the Marines and stayed in California. John bought a cheap Gibson SG guitar from Bill Stevens and joined local band Broken Toys. He played two years with the "Toys" around the Northern Cal area. John started another band called The Primates , which is still alive and well. He also plays with bands Strut-a-Various and Southern Comfort. John loves playing guitar, riding motorcycles and living life. His favorite musician is Joe Walsh, favorite band- AC DC ,
